Happy Birthday Roy!
In the month Roy would have been 69, we commemorate the Rock legend with his new DVD release.
Roy Orbison is still considered the most influenctial man in rock, with one of the most mystifying voices warming the hearts of all who loved him. Amongst his many accolades he gave the US 10 Top 20 hits with 19 in the UK. He toured with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and The Beach Boys and no-one will forget his Grammy award winning "Oh, Pretty Woman".
Born in Vernon, Texas 1936, Roy received his first guitar aged 6, had his first radio performance aged 10 and formed his first band aged 13. It seems stardom was in Roy's blood.
When asked how he would like to be remembered Roy simply repleid "I would just like to be remembered". Humble words from the mand Elvis called "The greatest singer in the world".
Roy would have been 69 on April 23rd and we commemorate his birthday with a new DVD release featuring his 1973 Australian live performance only aired in 1973 which contains rare footage of the star and is indeed a wonderful showcase.
